Andrew Meyer being subdued by campus police

A University of Florida student, Andrew Meyer, was tasered and arrested during a forum where John Kerry was speaking on Monday, September 17th.

This is photo 2 of 2 in this set.

Apparently Meyer asked several questions and when his time was up he was asked repeatedly to stop taliking because his allotted time was over. When he did not stop speaking his microphone was cut and he became angry over the incident.

Forum organizers asked the campus police to step in and remove Myer from the auditorium, at which many of those present started cheering. While as many as four police officers tried to remove Meyer from the forum, he yelled for help and asked "What did I do?"

Meyer was tasered after officers tried to first handcuff him, which he resisted.

University of Florida police are said to be investigating the incident to make sure the use of the taser gun was legitimate. "The police department does have a standard procedure for when they use force, including when they use a Taser. That is what the internal investigation would address -- whether the proper procedures were followed, whether the officers acted appropriately." said university spokesman Steve Orlando.

Meyer was charged with resisting arrest and disturbing the peace and must appear in court on Tuesday morning.

"Andrew Meyer, 21, asked Kerry why he did not contest the 2004 presidential election, which he lost to President Bush, and why there had been no moves to impeach Bush."The thing is, he was raising a good point which I'm all for but if you're given a time limit, stubbornly going on wasn't the way to go about it.

true. i agree. but i also think this was a little excessive force used under the circumstances. i think cops get a little power crazy sometimes... i mean look at the woman, she seems to be enjoying the whole thing...

I watched the video and was probably just as stunned as poor Mr Meyer when they hit him when they already had him overpowered, surrounded and pinned to the ground.
